DESCRIPTION

The Technical Writer is responsible for developing  operations and maintenance procedures or technical manuals within the oil and gas industry.

Qualification and Experience:

REQUIREMENTS

Industry Experience:

• Technical writing experience (2-5 years)
• 5 + years Industrial experience as operator, maintenance technician, engineer, supervisor
• Knowledge of technical writing principles
• Reads P&ID, C&E charts, Vendor Drawings/Schematics
• Produces quality documentation easy to use and read
• Consults project SME/Lead to meet technical accuracy and regulatory compliance

General Skills:

• Command of the English language – read, speak and write at the H.S. level
• Good communication - active listening skills in addition to excellent speaking and writing
• Reasoning –problem solving ability
• Team Player – Supports team concepts and cooperates well with others; follows directions; maintains good records and reports progress weekly
• Timeliness – Can perform well under a time restricted schedule
• Willingness – Willing to help with the overall success of the project
• Self motivated - works with minimal supervision to accomplish quality work; completes assignments on schedule

EDUCATION

• High School diploma (vocational degree or certificate desirable)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word
