Overview

ExxonMobil is the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company. They explore for, produce and sell crude oil, natural gas, and petroleum products throughout the world.

ExxonMobil formed a joint venture with Petroleam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), the Malaysian state oil company, to develop numerous offshore oil and gas producing platforms. Each facility will require both operations procedures and maintenance procedures that are in accordance with ExxonMobil’s Competency Assurance Standards (CAS) and Operations Integrity Management Systems (OIMS) elements 5 and 6.

M&H was selected to develop the facilities operations and maintenance procedures under the supervision of ExxonMobil's Operations Design and Support Group. An initial assessment using Task Analysis and Risk Analysis techniques helped identify the scope of work and a list of all required documents was published.

M&H's procedure development methodology consists of utilizing the relevant information researched from project documentation and years of operating and maintenance experience in order to develop detailed procedures.  Project documentation includes system descriptions, P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, Design Basis Memorandum, Vendor Manuals, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and other relevant engineering documentation and project files.

The total volume of procedures being developed is in excess of 800 and will require 10 Technical Writers and Editors nearly a year to complete.

The M&H project team is talented, experienced, and committed to providing quality deliverables for the Malaysian project.  Currently, all procedures have been drafted and are being validated for client approval.  To "Do it Right", the M&H project execution methods of quality control, and customer satisfaction have been successfully applied to yet another project.
