Emergency response planning can be both a regulatory and a documentation
nightmare. Most facilities are subject to at least one emergency
response planning regulatory requirement and large facilities may
be subject to as many as six or seven.
The challenge is to deal with
the regulatory requirements and maintain a plan that is an effective
guideline for your responders. Our focus
is to help you improve the effectiveness of your response program
while dealing with the regulatory requirements. We work with you
to design a response management system that is tailored to your
facility.
In all cases we recommend that you start with
a gap assessment that highlights the overall effectiveness of your
program. It addresses:
- What are the Reasonable Emergency Scenarios in your plant?
- Is
your organization staffed and equipped to handle these?
- Does your
documentation address the regulatory requirements?
At the end of the assessment we offer an itemized list of gaps
and a project plan to fill them.
We have extensive experience with the National Response Team's
Integrated Contingency Plan, frequently referred to as "One Plan." The
One Plan format can be difficult to implement because of its complexity.
We offer a unique implementation methodology that includes plan development,
training, and drills. This process makes it much more likely that
your staff will understand and accept the plan when it is complete. |
