M&H writes commissioning, startup, operating and maintenance
procedures for process facilities. Our technical writers are experienced
facility operators and maintenance personnel who have been given
technical writing training and enhanced computer-related skills.
For new facilities, our writers typically draft procedures
based on P&IDs, equipment vendor data, and the writers experience.
The draft procedures are reviewed with your operations or maintenance
staff to improve the technical accuracy of the document and facilitates
operator and or maintenance buy in.
For existing facilities our
technical writers would interview the facility operators and
or maintenance staff. These interviews would
be compared to the facilities drawings and any existing procedures.
The result of this process would be to update and enhance existing
procedures, or create new procedures based on level of detail
or regulatory compliance requirements.
The end result is that your operations and maintenance team feel
like they have participated in authoring the documents, giving
them a sense of empowerment and ownership.
Typically included
with the operating procedures is a list of Consequences of Deviation.
These can be written for each major equipment item or for each
control loop. Normal limits are presented for each operating
parameter.
Typical deviations are identified as well as likely causes
and consequences. Corrective actions are recommended for each.
The
consequence of deviation documents are required in Process
Safety Management regulated facilities but are very useful training
and
trouble-shooting documents for new operators.
M&H Energy Services will help develop the facility commissioning
plan and schedule to fit your project needs. We will establish milestones
and identify critical paths to accomplish the successful integration
of construction and precommissioning / commissioning activities.
Commissioning procedures are developed utilizing P&IDs, PFDs,
manufacturers information and our commissioning expertise and experience.
For new facilities our technical writers would typically write initial
start-up and draft operations and maintenance procedures based on
P&IDs, equipment vendor data and their own experience.
